fanworksThemed shows have been selected for the FanWorks 2020 virtual con! Thank you to everyone who submitted a themed show.
This year’s full slate of vidshows:
Vidder Submitted Shows
Any vidder is welcome to submit up to two of their own vids per show. Vidders can show up to three vids total, including collabs submitted by co-vidders. If submissions run over the allotted time, priority is given to first priority vids from attending vidders, with non-attending and second priority vids included if time remains.
Vids should not exceed six minutes in length; if the vid you want to submit is over six minutes, it will only be placed in the show if time allows, so please contact fanworksvidtech@gmail.com if you have questions about vid length.
Premieres | VJs: Trelkez & sweetestdrain
A showcase of new vids making their debut at the con.
Any new, previously unreleased work can be submitted. This is the video track’s main event of the con, so we encourage vidders to submit premieres to the show!
The Year in Vids
A vidshow featuring works from the previous year. Any vid released between September 2019 and the September 27th, 2020 submissions deadline is eligible for this show.
Vidder’s Choice
Any previously released vid that showcases your work -- whether the vid was released this year or thirty years ago, or is showing at a con for the first time or the fifth. Any previously released vid you’ve made is eligible for this show, regardless of theme or release date.

Vids made from a place of anger - about a show, a fandom, a situation, or the world.
* Note about this show: We’re trying something new this year, and introducing themed vidder submitted shows. Rather than curated by VJ like traditional themed shows, these are drawn entirely from vidder submissions.
This vidshow has a 45 minute time slot, and submissions will be capped at approximately 45 minutes of total vid runtime. If first priority submissions from attending vidders exceed 45 minutes, vids will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Any vid you’ve made that fits the theme is eligible, regardless of release date.
Themed shows
Themed shows are curated by their VJs, with vids selected on a theme. These shows don't take vidder submissions, but VJs may (or may not - VJ's choice!) take suggestions for vids to include in their shows.

Important note about the Premieres deadline:
We're putting the Premieres deadline as close to the con as vid tech allows so that we can give vidders the maximum amount of time to work on vids.
Because we're pushing the deadline as far back as it can go, there will be no Premieres extensions this year. If you find yourself running a few hours late on deadline night, you can contact us at fanworksvidtech@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help; anything more than that, we won't be able to accommodate, as we'll be on a very tight tech schedule. We've built in all the vidding time we can; there is no deadline flexibility this year.
